Wife Of Bauchi Gov Urges Women To Embrace Home-based Businesses

Published:

Wife of the Bauchi State governor, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, has called on housewives to initiate small-scale businesses within their homes as a means of sustaining their families and contributing to the socio-economic development of their communities.

She gave the advice while hosting women from her neighbourhood for a Ramadan Iftar (breaking of fast) at her residence in Bauchi yesterday.

Hajiya Aisha explained that more than 150,000 applicants applied for the 20,000 vacancies recently advertised in the ongoing job recruitment exercise, stressing the need for individuals to shift from being job seekers to becoming employers of labour.

She noted that recent research indicates that national prosperity depends largely on citizens embracing entrepreneurship and self-reliance.

The governor’s wife also urged mothers to remain steadfast in instilling strong moral values in their children to build a just and egalitarian society.

Speaking on behalf of the guests, Lami Umar Hassan expressed appreciation to the First Lady for hosting them during Ramadan. She noted that feeding others during the holy month attracts multiplied rewards from Allah.
