Israel on Monday launched a fresh wave of strikes at Iran, which threatened retaliation against vital infrastructure across the Middle East in a war that has plunged the world into its worst energy crisis in decades.
The Israel Defense Forces, IDF, in a post via X on Monday, said it had launched “a widespread wave of attacks” against Iranian government infrastructure in the capital Tehran.
According to the head of the International Energy Agency, Fatih Birol, no fewer than 40 energy facilities across oil-and gas-producing countries have been severely or very severely damaged, with the war entering its fourth week.
In Tehran, Iran’s capital city, explosions were reported and the United Arab Emirates, UAE, as well as Saudi Arabia, revealed that they intercepted incoming missiles and drones as the conflict spread across the region
In retaliation, Iran has fired missiles and drones targeting Israel, Gulf energy sites and even US diplomatic facilities.
