The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the results for the May/June 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) will be officially released on Monday.
The announcement will be made by the Head of National Office (HNO), Dr. Amos Dangut, at the WAEC headquarters in Yaba. This news is eagerly awaited by the 1,973,253 candidates who sat for the examination across 23,554 approved secondary schools.
The timely release of these results is a critical development for many candidates who have applied for admission into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education for the 2024/2025 academic session. A large number of these students submitted their applications as “awaiting results” candidates, and this release will now brighten their chances of securing admission. It comes as many institutions have already begun their post-UTME screening and testing processes.
Dr. Dangut confirmed that in line with the council’s recent tradition, the results will be released within 45 days of the last paper being conducted. He also stated that physical certificates would be printed and issued to schools in less than 90 days following the results’ release. In a modern step forward, candidates will also be able to access digital copies of their certificates on the new digital certificate platform.
