Veteran Actor Dumps ‘Papa Ajasco’ Persona, Rebrands as Bondu Alaska (Video)

Published:

Nollywood veteran Abiodun Ayoyinka has unveiled a new stage identity, Bondu Alaska, marking a departure from the iconic “Papa Ajasco” character that defined his career for decades.

In a video shared on social media, the actor introduced himself under the new name and expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their support, particularly following the attention generated by his recent viral interviews.

Ayoyinka urged fans, followers, and corporate brands to recognise him by his new identity going forward, noting that he has also updated his Instagram profile to reflect the change.

Addressing viewers in the clip, he declared himself “the one and only Bondu Alaska,” while promising not to disappoint those who have stood by him.

The rebranding comes amid a lingering dispute with Wale Adenuga, founder of Wale Adenuga Productions, over ownership rights to the “Papa Ajasco” brand.

Ayoyinka explained that he is unable to commercially use the character name, as it is legally trademarked by the production company.

He also opened up about financial challenges, revealing that despite years of portraying the popular role, he did not reap the expected economic rewards.
