Turkish football expert and commentator Reha Kapsal, has praised Victor Osimhen, saying he is the main reason behind Galatasaray’s hopes of doing well in the Champions League this season.
As the last day of the league stage of the Champions League approaches, Galatasaray are in 17th place with 10 points after seven matches.
If they beat Manchester City on Wednesday, they will get a spot in the playoff.
But even if they draw or lose, it might still be enough to get into the playoff, depending on what happens in other games.
Osimhen did not score in his last two Champions League games, but he was once the top scorer in the tournament.
In his first three matches, he scored six goals, including a hat-trick against Ajax Amsterdam.
In the Turkish Super Lig, the former African Footballer of the Year has also played a key role, scoring seven goals in 13 matches for the team that is currently at the top of the league.
Speaking on Spor, Kapsal said that Galatasaray’s good performance in the Champions League and their strong results in the Super Lig are mostly because of Osimhen.
“Osimhen has officially become the key player for Galatasaray; he’s the one who helped take the club to where it is now,” Kapsal was quoted by habersarikirmiz.
“I haven’t seen another player recently who changed a team’s environment as much on their own.
“Osimhen is the player who helped Galatasaray take the lead and keep going in the Champions League.”
In their last game, Osimhen scored the final goal in a 3-1 win against Fatih Karagümrük.
