Troops of Sector 3 of Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS) have arrested two suspected kidnappers during an intelligence-led operation in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was carried out on March 11 at about 9:00 a.m. when troops raided Arufu Village in connection with recent kidnapping incidents in the area.
During the operation, one suspect was arrested. He initially denied involvement but later confessed to participating in kidnapping activities that occurred in February.
Further investigation led troops to Chinkai Community, where the second suspect believed to be his accomplice was subsequently apprehended.
Items recovered from the suspects include two mobile phones, a locally made knife, and the sum of ₦21,520.
The suspects and the recovered exhibits are currently in military custody for further investigation and possible prosecution.
