The Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), Dr. Amina Mohammed, has arrived at the venue of the LEADERSHIP Annual Conference and Awards 2025 taking place at the Bola Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, on Thursday morning.

Dr. Mohammed, a former Minister of Environment in Nigeria, was received by chairman of LEADERSHIP Media Group, Mrs Zaina Nda-Isaiah, and dignitaries at the event venue.

Her presence added global prominence to the high-profile gathering, which has drawn political leaders, policymakers, captains of industry, and members of the diplomatic community.

The annual conference, organised by LEADERSHIP Media Group, publishers of LEADERSHIP Newspaper titles, serves as a platform for national discourse on governance, development, and public policy, while also recognising individuals who have distinguished themselves in public service and leadership every year.

This year’s edition features the conferment of awards on six state governors alongside other top dignitaries from across various sectors of the economy. The awards are aimed at honouring excellence, accountability, and impactful leadership.

The event is expected to include keynote addresses, panel discussions, and goodwill messages focused on national development and sustainable growth.

Security presence was heightened around the International Conference Centre as guests and award recipients arrived for the ceremony, reflecting the significance of the occasion, which is currently underway with the arrival of the one of the awardees and First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
