Task force arrests 6 suspected hoodlums in Lagos

Men of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit have apprehended six suspected hoodlums in the state.

This followed continued clampdown on criminal elements operating on major roads across the state.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr Tokunbo Wahab, confirmed this in a post shared on his X handle @tokunbo_wahab on Saturday.

He said the suspects were apprehended on Saturday on Ikorodu Road.

“The operation, which began at about 9:30 a.m., covered Maryland and the entire stretch of Ikorodu Road.

“The suspects were part of a group that has been terrorising motorists, particularly drivers whose vehicles broke down on the road.

“They were accused of violently attacking affected motorists and dispossessing them of their valuables, using the acts as a means of livelihood, ” the commissioner wrote.

He revealed that the suspects have been taken into custody for further investigation and prosecution.

“All suspects will be arraigned as soon as possible,” he stated.
