Following their thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over Morocco, which secured their record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title, the Nigerian Super Falcons are soaring even higher. A fantastic four Nigerians have been recognized in the CAF Best XI for the 2024 WAFCON!
The formidable quartet of Chiamaka Nnadozie, Michelle Alozie, Esther Okoronkwo, and Rasheedat Ajibade all earned their spots for their standout performances throughout the tournament. This makes the Super Falcons stars the most represented in the prestigious Team of the Tournament – a true testament to their dominance!
Special shout-out to Chiamaka Nnadozie, who was rightfully crowned Goalkeeper of the Tournament. Her incredible run saw her keep four clean sheets, conceding only three goals in total – just one from a penalty in the semi-final against South Africa, and two in the action-packed final against hosts Morocco. What an incredible showing from our champions!
