Senator Buba Distributes 16,200 Bags Of Rice To Bauchi Constituents

Published:

The senator representing Bauchi North Senatorial District, Shehu Buba, has distributed 16,200 bags of rice to constituents across the zone as part of his efforts to cushion the impact of economic hardship during the ongoing Ramadan.

During the exercise in Bauchi yesterday, Senator Buba said the gesture was aimed at alleviating the suffering of underprivileged families grappling with rising food costs.

The lawmaker said the intervention was targeted at vulnerable groups, noting that the holy month demands compassion, support and shared sacrifice.

“This initiative is to support our people, especially the vulnerable, so they can observe Ramadan with some level of comfort and dignity,” he said.

He appealed to the beneficiaries to remain calm and orderly throughout the exercise, assuring them that adequate security measures had been put in place to prevent overcrowding and ensure a hitch-free process.

Security personnel were deployed to the distribution centres to maintain law and order as residents turned out in large numbers.

LEADERSHIP gathered that allocations were also extended beyond Bauchi North, with each local government area in the two other senatorial districts of the state receiving a share of the rice consignment.
