US Police Officer Wildelis Rosa Dies Days After Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) Surgery

Published:

Wildelis Rosa, a 26-year-old police officer from New Orleans and a US Army Reservist, tragically died in Miami just days after undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery. She had traveled to South Florida in mid-March, shortly after returning from Kuwait, to celebrate her birthday.

According to the New York Post, Rosa underwent pre-surgery blood tests on March 19 at the Prestige Plastic Surgery Clinic. The cosmetic procedure was performed on March 20, costing $7,495, and involved extracting fat from 12 areas of her body for injection into her buttocks.

Three days post-operation, while recovering at a rental apartment, Rosa informed her family about the surgery. Her older sister, Anamin Vazquez, grew concerned when Rosa stopped responding to messages. The following day, March 23, a friend staying with Rosa found her collapsed in the bathroom. Despite attempts at CPR, Rosa was already deceased.

The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner confirmed that her death was caused by a pulmonary embolism – a blockage in the lungs – a known major complication of cosmetic surgery. Reports indicate that Rosa had experienced extreme pain, difficulty breathing, and showed signs of low blood pressure and numbness in her lower limbs after the surgery, with her condition rapidly deteriorating before her death.
