The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old man, James Osita, for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl in Ile-Oluji community, headquarters of the Ile-Oluji Local Government Area of the state.
According to sources, the suspect had, on several occasions, sexually abused the teenager before he was apprehended by police operatives in the community.
While confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abayomi Jimoh, stated that one Uchena reported the incident, after which operatives promptly arrested the culprit and rescued the victim.
Jimoh disclosed that the suspect, who is already in custody, had confessed to the crime, adding that the suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
He stated that “this arrest aligns with gender-sensitive policing, promotes accountability, and enhances strategic responses to sexual and gender-based violence nationwide.”
