The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected kidnappers, alleged to be responsible for the kidnapping and related threats within the Sarau Belel community, Maiha local government area of the state.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said their arrest followed a complaint from a resident of Sagal Village, Emmanuel Daniel, who reported that he was threatened with kidnapping by two individuals.
The suspects allegedly claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of his younger brother, Joshua Daniel, who was abducted in November.
Nguroje said upon receipt of the complaint, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, immediately deployed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Sarau Belel, alongside operatives of the Division, to carry out a swift and coordinated operation which led to
the arrest of the two suspects.
The PPRO identified the suspects as 36-year-old Sunday Yakubu and Daniel Yakubu, a 38-year-old male.

According to the police, the suspects confessed to the allegations during the investigation and were currently aiding the Command with helpful information.
The CP also directed the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Command to take over the case, ensuring a thorough and discreet investigation, as well as diligent prosecution of the suspects in accordance with the law.
The Command reassured the people of the state of its commitment to protecting lives and property, and called on members of the public to continue supporting the Police with timely and credible information.
