Nigerian international Victor Osimhen was on target as Turkish giants Galatasaray secured a commanding 3-0 away win against Çaykur Rizespor on Sunday.
Osimhen’s goal, his 15th of the season, completed a comprehensive performance for the reigning champions.
Galatasaray opened the scoring through Barış Yılmaz, who expertly headed home Noa Lang’s precise cross. Yılmaz then turned provider, setting up Yunus Akgün for Galatasaray’s second goal just two minutes after the hour mark, further solidifying their control of the match.
Osimhen, the prolific frontman, added the third goal for Okan Buruk’s side in the 73rd minute, putting the result beyond doubt. This crucial strike extended his impressive goal tally for the season.
The victory sees Galatasaray stretch their lead at the summit of the Süper Lig table to six points. The Yellow and Reds now boast 52 points from 21 games, while their closest rivals, Fenerbahçe, sit on 46 points with a game in hand.
Galatasaray will look to continue their impressive form when they host Eyüpspor in their next league fixture on Friday.
