The Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH) in Okitipupa, Ondo State, has taken a significant step in boosting its academic and research capabilities by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with South Africa’s University of the Free State (UFS). This landmark agreement, announced on Monday by OAUSTECH’s Director of Information, Protocol, and Public Relations, Mr. Paul Adeagbo, is set to foster robust collaboration in key areas, particularly agriculture, science, and technology.
The partnership encompasses a broad range of cooperative initiatives. These include undertaking joint research projects, facilitating collaborative research endeavors in fields of shared interest, establishing student and staff exchange programs, and launching joint capacity-building efforts through workshops and specialized training sessions.
Both institutions anticipate that this collaboration will significantly enhance their academic and research strengths, promoting vital knowledge sharing and fostering innovation. Furthermore, the MoU is expected to streamline the exchange of best practices, specialized expertise, and valuable resources between OAUSTECH and the University of the Free State. The signing ceremony for this pivotal agreement took place at OAUSTECH’s campus.
Professor Temi Ologunorisa, the Vice-Chancellor of OAUSTECH, expressed his enthusiasm for the new partnership, highlighting its potential to expand the university’s academic and research horizons.
