NNPP NWC Rejects Suspension Of Kano Party Chairman Dungurawa

Published:

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has declared the suspension of the Kano State chapter chairman, Alhaji Hashimu Dungurawa, as null and void, describing the action as “misplaced, undemocratic, and of no effect whatsoever.”

The NWC blamed the action of some executive members of the party in Gargari Ward, Dawakin Tofa local government area of Kano State, who had announced the purported suspension of Dungurawa, describing it as a gross anti-party activity that violates the party’s constitution.

The National Publicity Secretary of NNPP, Bamofin Ladipo Johnson, in a statement released on Wednesday, said that the party’s NWC has reaffirmed Dungurawa’s position as the legitimate chairman of the NNPP in Kano State.

“The party urge all members to disregard the purported suspension and continue to work towards the unity and advancement of the party,. Dungurawa has been a conscientious, hardworking, and dutiful leader, contributing significantly to the party’s progress in Kano State. The NWC’s declaration is seen as a vote of confidence in the chairman’s leadership.

“The decision by the NWC is a clear indication that the party will not tolerate any form of indiscipline or divisive activities within its ranks. “The party is committed to maintaining peace and stability, and all members are expected to work towards this goal,” he stated.

Johnson emphasised that the party leadership has called on all members to remain calm and united, ignoring the purported suspension of Dungurawa, stating the party’s confidence to return the situation to normal as all efforts will be focused on achieving the party’s goals in Kano State.

He stressed that the NWC’s declaration has brought clarity to the situation, and the party was expected to move forward with renewed vigour and determination.
