Nigerian Striker Yenne Eyes Russia Premier League Success

Published:

Nigerian striker Tenton Yenne has set his sights on replicating his Armenia Premier League success in Russia after completing a high-profile move to Baltika Kaliningrad, following three impressive seasons at Ararat-Armenia.

Yenne arrived in Russia with an impressive resume from Armenia, where he was named the 2023/24 Armenian Premier League Player of the Season and also lifted the Armenian Cup during the 2021/22 campaign.

Across multiple seasons with Ararat-Armenia, he delivered 43 goals plus 17 assists in 94 appearances as well as influential performances, cementing his reputation as one of the league’s most decisive players.

The 25-year-old, who established himself as one of the standout performers in Armenia, says consistency and faith were key factors behind his decision to embrace a new challenge in the Russian Premier League.

After three seasons of sustained excellence with Ararat-Armenia, Yenne believes the move to Russia represents a step up both professionally and personally.

“Life in Russia is a new beginning filled with higher demands and fresh motivation, and I am determined to achieve my goals with hard work and discipline.

“God has been so good, I think what inspired the transfer was my consistency,” he said.

The forward has already begun settling into his new environment as Baltika push for a strong league finish.

Baltika currently sit just five points off the summit of the Russian Premier League table, and Yenne has made no secret of his ambition to help the club finish strongly.

“We just want to go all the way and I want to experience something bigger with Baltika.”

His statistics underline that impact, having recorded double figures in goals and assists across three campaigns.

He began with 10 goals and six assists in the 2022/23 season. He also recorded 16 league goals and seven assists in 32 appearances during the 2023/24 season and followed it up with 17 goals and four assists in 28 matches in the 2024/25 campaign, underlining his reliability in front of goal across consecutive seasons.
