Mutfwang Celebrates Jang’s 80th Birthday, Commends Leadership Legacy

Plateau State governor Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, has joined Plateau people, numerous well-wishers in extending warm felicitations to a father and political icon, Senator Jonah David Jang, former governor of Plateau State, on the joyous occasion of his 80th birthday.

Mutfwang in a statement issued by the director of press and public affairs Mr. Gyang Bere described Dara Jonah David Jang as a strong pillar of support, an exceptional mentor, and a spiritual and political leader who continually guides many to serve God and humanity with sincerity.

He described Jang ‘s birthday as a milestone that is far more than a celebration of age; but a tribute to a remarkable life defined by sacrifice, service, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare and progress of the people of Plateau State.

“I celebrate a great leader, a father figure to the State, and a man whose life reflects deep faith in God and unwavering service to humanity.
Dara, Distinguished Senator Jonah David Jang, CON, as you mark your 80th birthday, I join your family, the Church, and the good people and Government of Plateau State in thanking God for your remarkable life of service, dedication, and purpose.

“Your life stands as a shining example of integrity, courage, and commitment to the collective good. Indeed, you are a symbol worthy of emulation, a beacon of hope, a father of modern Plateau, and a passionate advocate for the progress and unity of Plateau State and the entire Middle Belt.” He stated.

The governor said Senator Jang ‘s administration recorded notable strides in the education sector through the expansion, renovation, and upgrading of schools, as well as the strengthening of tertiary institutions within the State.

He said the efforts were aimed at improving access to quality education and preparing young people for meaningful participation in national development.

According to the statement among the enduring legacies of the Jang’s administration was his commitment to infrastructure development, particularly the construction and rehabilitation of roads linking urban centres and rural communities across the three Senatorial Districts of the state.

He noted that these investments significantly improved connectivity, enhanced economic activities, and brought government’s presence closer to the people.

Governor Mutfwang lauded the pivotal role the statesman played in promoting peace, unity, and inter-communal dialogue during periods of tension in Plateau State.

He said through deliberate engagement, consultations, and leadership, Dara worked tirelessly to rebuild trust among communities and lay the foundation for lasting peace and social cohesion.
