‘‘Leave my children out of your problem,’ Actress Iyabo Ojo fires back at Baba Ijesha

Published:

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has warned her colleague, Olanrewaju Omiyimika, aka Baba Ijesha, over comments he made about her children in an interview with the media.

The controversy followed claims by the comic actor suggesting that Ojo had, at some point, left her children in his care while they were younger.

Responding in a statement shared on Sunday, the actress said she has no objection to him telling his side of the story but cautioned against bringing her children into the narrative.

“This is a notice to cease and desist from using my children as your cheap bait. It won’t fly,” she stated.

Ojo further clarified that her children were always under supervision, either with nannies or her late mother, stressing that they were never left alone.

“At my former business place in Ilupeju, I had multiple staff, including stylists, sales reps and apprentices, so it’s unlikely I’d be the one running errands. I can send a worker if needed,” she said.

She urged the actor to refrain from misleading the public with what she described as false claims involving her children.

Ojo also pushed back against Baba Ijesha’s assertion that she was his “product,” clarifying that he was merely her senior colleague in the industry and nothing beyond that.

“You were a senior colleague, nothing more to it,” she stated.

“However, that 14-year-old girl was a minor, and sexual assault is never okay. It is a crime. You should show some remorse. The court found you guilty based on evidence, so please don’t drag my kids into this. Stop mentioning their names, or I would direct my counsel to serve you appropriate papers,” the actress warned.
