HEROES! Lagos Officers Catch Woman Trying to Jump Off Bridge! What They Did Next Will Melt Your Heart!

Officers from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos have successfully rescued an elderly woman who was attempting to jump into the lagoon from Carter Bridge.

According to an RRS statement, the incident happened on Friday afternoon, July 11, 2025, while officers were on routine patrol of the bridge. The operatives spotted the woman as she approached the edge of the bridge and quickly intervened before she could leap into the lagoon.

“At about 12:20 p.m. today, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on patrol successfully prevented an elderly woman from jumping into the lagoon from Carter Bridge,” the statement read.

She was taken to the RRS Headquarters, where Commander CSP Shola Jejeloye listened to her story. Afterward, he allowed her, along with her husband and their 30-year-old son, to have a private family meeting to discuss and resolve their differences.

Following the meeting, CSP Jejeloye provided extensive counseling to the woman and offered her a cash gift. The family expressed deep gratitude to the Commander for the squad’s timely intervention, his heartfelt advice, and the financial support. The woman has since been released into the care of her husband and son.
