The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kwara State Command, on Tuesday decorated a new batch of 200 promoted officers, reaffirming its commitment to professionalism, discipline and enhanced service delivery across the state.
The ceremony, held at the State Command Headquarters in Ilorin, was presided over by the State Commandant, Dr Umar Mohammed.
He applauded the officers for distinguishing themselves through hard work, integrity and dedication to duty.
Addressing the newly promoted officers, Dr Umar described promotion as “a mark of trust and a call to greater responsibility,” urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them by the Corps.
He emphasised that elevation in rank is not merely ceremonial but demands renewed commitment, higher discipline and improved operational efficiency.
The commandant expressed profound appreciation to the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his transformative leadership and unwavering support for the corps.
Dr Umar noted that the minister’s reforms have continued to enhance the welfare, morale and capacity of NSCDC personnel nationwide.
He further extended gratitude to the Commandant-General of the Corps, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, whose administration has championed merit-driven promotion processes, advanced training programmes and a strong culture of professionalism across the corps.
Dr Umar encouraged officers still awaiting promotion to remain steadfast, assuring them that the corps remains committed to fairness, merit and due process in career advancement.
Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Awoyale Olusoji expressed heartfelt appreciation to the NSCDC management for the honour bestowed upon them.
He pledged that the officers would rededicate themselves to duty and uphold the values of integrity, service excellence and loyalty to the nation.
