The Secretary to the Keffi Local Government Council, Ibrahim Bala, has been relieved of his appointment.
A letter signed by the council’s director of administration, Mr Usman Zubairu Egya, attributed the sack to alleged unethical social media posts and disrespect for constituted authority.
According to the letter dated 5th February, 2026, the directive was issued by the council’s chairman, Idris Ahmed Damagani.
It also referenced a query letter earlier served on Bala regarding alleged utterances and threats to the executive chairman on 11th January, which he “failed to respond to adequately,” as another ground for the sack.
“That your social media utterances are unethical, worrisome and capable of truncating peaceful co-existences in our LGA and also our great APC Party, both at local and state levels.
“That your disrespect to constituted authority, elders and stakeholders is unbearable.
“Hence, you are therefore relinquished and terminated from the position of Secretary to Keffi LGC,” the letter stated.
However, responding in an interview, the embattled secretary said he is not disturbed by the development, noting that it was an opportunity for him to align politically ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He noted that the council under the incumbent had sidelined him in the scheme of things and had never been carried along.
He noted that with the development, he is free to support any aspirant in the run-up to the 2027 elections.
