Kano Rep, Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe resigns from NNPP

Published:

Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe, the member of the House of Representatives representing the Tofa/Dawakin Tofa/Rimin Gado Federal Constituency of Kano State, has formally resigned from the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP.

In a resignation letter dated January 23, 2026, and addressed to the NNPP Chairman of Mobe Ward in Tofa Local Government Area, Jobe announced his decision to withdraw his membership from the party with immediate effect.

The letter was sent through the party secretary in Jobe Ward.

According to the lawmaker, his decision was prompted by deepening internal divisions and persistent court cases at both the state and national levels, which he said have continued to undermine peace and unity within the party.

Jobe was elected on the platform of the NNPP.

The development comes shortly after the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, also officially resigned from the NNPP.
