American Christian worship leader, singer, and songwriter, Ron Kenoly, is dead.
The musician, whose songs impacted lives globally, was said to have died on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the age of 81.
Born on December 6, 1944, at Coffeyville, Kansas, United States, Ron Kenoly was known in gospel music circles in the 1980s and 1990s, for leading live music concerts, and he has inspired many both in his homeland and in Africa to follow their passion and ‘Praise The Lord’.
With songs like ‘Lift Him Up’, ‘Jesus Is Alive’ and several songs made at live worship concerts, he will be missed by his many followers, his family and the gospel music industry especially.
Ron Kenoly music career began following time spent in the United States Air Force.
His musical career breakthrough came in 1992 when ‘Lift Him Up’ became the fastest selling worship album to that point. ‘Welcome Home’ produced by Tom Brooks was also critically acclaimed, becoming Billboard’s Top contemporary worship music album.
