President Bola Tinubu, on Sunday night, met with key political actors from Rivers State, as the Presidency moved to ease tensions surrounding the prolonged political crisis in the oil-rich state.
The closed-door meeting at the Aso Rock brought together the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
Although details of the discussions were not officially disclosed, the meeting is being viewed as a significant step by President Tinubu to personally intervene in the political standoff that has polarised the Rivers political space and disrupted governance in recent months.
