Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani, has declared Rijana settlement along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway in Kachia local government area of the State as the epicenter of insecurity and banditry in Nigeria.
Former Governor Nasir El-Rufai had during his administration proposed the relocation of Rijana community because it harboured criminals.
Speaking during his visit to Kurmin Wali community in Kajuru local government area where suspected bandits abducted 177 worshippers from three churches last Sunday during church service, Governor Sani assured the community of the safe return of the affected people even as he called on the Federal Government to establish a military base at Kurmin Wali given its proximity to Rijana.
LEADERSHIP reports that the latest kidnapping incident was initially denied by the Kaduna State Government and the State Police Command until on Tuesday, when the names of the 177 victims were published.
