The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State on Saturday concluded its local government congresses across the 27 local government areas of the state.
DAILY POST observed that the congresses were conducted peacefully at all the local government headquarters.
In some of the local government councils visited by our correspondent, including Ringim, Taura, Gagarawa, Jahun and Miga, party executives were elected by consensus in accordance with the party’s constitution.
Speaking at the event, the member representing Kanya Babba Constituency in the State House of Assembly, who is also Chairman of the House Committee on Information and Chairman of the Miga Local Government APC Congress Committee, said the exemplary leadership of Governor Umar Namadi had resulted in the peace and stability currently being enjoyed within the party.
Commenting on the congresses, the local government chairmen commended the governor for his efforts to ensure unity among party members.
According to them” we are satisfied with the governor ‘s leadership style and his efforts to ensure the unity of the party members. We are therefore ready to work hand in hand with the newly party executives to ensure the victory of the party in 2027.”
Also commenting on the congresses, an APC stakeholder in Jigawa State, Hon. Yahaya Gidan Maza, expressed confidence in the party’s victory in the forthcoming elections.
“By what is happening in the state, almost all the key figures in the opposition parties including PDP, APC have all shifted their loyalty to the APC and Governor Umar Namadi due to the developmental projects being executed across the state. I am sure by noon of the election day, APC will win all the elections in the state.”
He advised the newly elected party executives to carry all members along to promote peace, unity and electoral success.
