ABUJA: The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has described the appointment of Dr Taiwo Oyedele as the Minister of State for Finance as a significant win for Nigeria’s economic sector, labeling the appointee a man of “unwavering dedication” and “brilliance.”
In a congratulatory message issued on Wednesday, following Oyedele’s successful screening and confirmation by the Senate, Tunji-Ojo noted that President Bola Tinubu’s choice reflects a commitment to meritocracy and expertise.
“Beyond your track records, I have known you as a man of integrity, brilliance and unwavering dedication, not just in your field of expertise but also as a Nigerian who believes in the development of his country,” Tunji-Ojo said in the statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Babatunde Alao.
The Interior minister noted Oyedele’s transformative impact during his tenure as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, noting that his vision has already left a profound mark on the nation’s fiscal landscape.
“I have no doubt that you will bring the same vision, commitment and excellence to this new role. It fills me with pride to see your talent and service recognized at this level. Nigeria is fortunate to have you leading in this critical sector and I celebrate your achievement with all my heart,” he added.
Tunji-Ojo commended President Tinubu for the strategic appointment, expressing confidence that the new Minister of State for Finance would bring transformative excellence to the ministry.
