Popular small-screen actress Aunty Ajara has died in a Lagos hospital after battling a liver-related illness.
Her death was confirmed by family members on Thursday, February 5, 2026, following what they described as a brief but difficult struggle with the disease.
In a video shared on social media, her elder brother, Ridwan Lazeez, announced the passing and expressed appreciation to members of the public for the financial and emotional support extended to the actress during her illness.
“With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved actress, Aunty Ajara. She passed on overnight after a long and courageous battle with illness,” Lazeez said.
He noted that Ajara received overwhelming support, prayers and goodwill from people across the world during her final days.
“During this difficult period, Ajara received immense love, prayers and financial support from kind-hearted people around the world. We are deeply grateful to everyone who stood by her with prayers, contributions, encouragement and compassion,” he added.
Lazeez also appealed to the public to discontinue further donations, stating that financial assistance was no longer needed.
“At this moment, we kindly urge family, friends and the general public to stop sending money to the previously shared account, as it is no longer required,” he said.
He concluded by offering prayers for the deceased and her loved ones, saying, “Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, loved ones and all who are mourning this painful loss. May her soul rest in perfect peace.”
