Pedro Neto’s sensational hat-trick propelled Chelsea to a dominant 4-0 win over Hull City in the FA Cup fourth round. This comfortable victory marked a successful return to his former club for Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior.
Neto opened the scoring with a superb 18-yard strike, giving Chelsea a half-time lead. He doubled his tally directly from a corner early in the second half, before Brazilian forward Estêvão effectively sealed the tie just before the hour mark. The Portuguese winger then completed his hat-trick with 19 minutes remaining, as Championship promotion hopefuls Hull failed to mount any serious challenge.
Rosenior’s tenure as Chelsea manager, which began in January with a resounding 5-1 win at Charlton in the third round, continued positively. On an emotional return to the MKM Stadium, where he previously played and managed, the London club effortlessly advanced to the last 16. Excluding defeats in both legs of Chelsea’s League Cup semi-final against Arsenal, Rosenior has now overseen eight wins and one draw in his nine other matches across all competitions.
