Economically developed countries got there through SMEs empowerment – Ganduje

Published:

Abdullahi Ganduje, Executive Director of Technical Services at the Rural Electrification Agency, REA, has said that economically advanced nations achieved their status largely through the empowerment of small and medium enterprises, SMEs.

Ganduje, who is the son of former All Progressives Congress Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, made the assertion in a statement issued on Monday by his spokesperson, Edwin Olofu, following an event held in Kano State over the weekend.

He stressed that strengthening SMEs remains a critical driver of sustainable economic growth, noting that Nigeria must adopt a similar approach to achieve meaningful development.

According to him, initiatives such as the deployment of solar-powered irrigation pumps would enable Nigerian farmers to engage in year-round farming, boost productivity, and improve livelihoods.

“Nations that are economically developed got there by empowering SMEs, and that is the path we are following,” Ganduje said.
