Court Restrains Godmade Homes, Kuyebi Over Disputed Ikoyi Property

Published:

Justice Rosul Olukolu of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Tapa has restrained Godmade Homes Limited and its alter ego, Ayoolanrewaju Kuyebi, from taking over a disputed property in the Osborne Ikoyi area of the state.

Justice Olukolu made the order while ruling on an ex parte motion filed by AbdulHakeem Adio on behalf of Two Aprils Limited in case number LD/853CM/2026.

The court order prohibits the defendants from disturbing or transferring the property, which is a five-bedroom terrace duplex with boys’ quarters, in accordance with the sale offer from July 2022 and the sale contract dated November 4, 2022.

The property was allegedly marketed by Godmade Homes as a developed and deliverable unit, leading Two Aprils Limited to purchase it for N295,500,000, paying N247,260,000.00 despite delivery delays.

In accordance with their agreement, Godmade Homes issued a Letter of Allocation to the Claimants/Applicants on 21st May 2024.

Godmade Homes and its alter ego allegedly continued to change the delivery date and repeatedly violated other contract terms.

The solicitors for Godmade Homes, in a letter dated 16th February 2026, indicated that their client reserved the right to resell the property to another buyer while demanding a unilateral increase in the purchase price to N450,000,000.00 (Four Hundred and Fifty Million Naira), minus the amount already paid by the Claimants.

The applicants strongly rejected the respondents’ proposal to raise the price to N450,000,000.00 from the original N295,500,000, as stated in the respondents’ solicitor’s letter dated 19th February 2026.

For unspecified reasons, the respondents abruptly and unilaterally terminated the Sale Contract via a letter dated 23rd February 2026.

There is a need to prevent the Respondents from reselling the property to other parties.

Based on these facts, the court granted the Claimants’ reliefs and issued an order restraining Godmade Homes and Ayoolanrewaju Kuyebi pending the hearing of the motion on notice.

The case has now been adjourned to April 2, 2026, for further proceedings.
