Commission Resumes Continuous Voter Registration In Kebbi

Published:

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kebbi State has resumed the second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, urging eligible residents to register and obtain their permanent voter cards (PVCs).

Addressing stakeholders at a meeting, the resident electoral commissioner, Alhaji Abubakar Sarkin Pawa Dambo, emphasised the importance of collective support for the exercise. “It is with great pleasure and honour that I welcome our distinguished stakeholders. As you are all aware, every successful Continuous Voter Registration has to do with the collective support of all stakeholders,” he said.

The CVR exercise, which began on January 5, 2026, will run until April 17, 2026, and is open to new registrants, registered voters seeking updates or corrections, and those who lost or damaged their PVCs. The exercise will be conducted at INEC LGA Offices, State Headquarters, and Registration Area Centres/WARDs across the state.

Dambo appealed to stakeholders to sensitize their communities on the need to register, saying, “I want to use this opportunity to appeal to all stakeholders to sensitize their people on the need to go and obtain their PVCs as it is the only instrument that will qualify them to vote.”

The commission has assured stakeholders of its commitment to upholding the highest level of integrity and openness throughout the exercise. “INEC is committed to upholding the highest level of integrity, openness, and level playing ground for the smooth exercise,” Dambo said.
