The Emir of Ilorin, Alh. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has rejoiced with Christian faithful on the occasion of Christmas celebration.
The monarch, in a message issued by his press secretary, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, emphasised on peaceful coexistence, unity, and moral uprightness as panacea for promoting religious harmony in the society.
He said that no sacrifice was too much for the actualisation of the desired unity, peace, growth and development in Nigeria.
Sulu-Gambari added that tolerance and forgiveness would play pivotal roles in the collective interest of all.
The Emir also appealed to residents of Ilorin Emirate and beyond to sustain the prevailing peace in the state and shun acts that could lead to the breakdown of law and order.
He, however, advocated for unity among all citizens, regardless of tribe or religion, describing the Ilorin Emirate as a melting pot of cultures and traditions with high regards for human life, calling for a collective effort against idleness, crimes and criminality.
Emir Sulu-Gambari urged christian faithful to use the occasion of the Christmas celebration to reflect positively and pray more for peaceful coexistence globally, and in Nigeria in particular.
