Reality TV personality Tope Adenibuyan, known as Teddy A, has publicly addressed the domestic abuse allegations that once circulated online about his marriage to actress Bamike “Bambam” Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, describing the claims as false and emotionally distressing.
Speaking on the WithChude podcast aired on Monday, Teddy A said the reports spread rapidly on social media at the time, accusing him of physically abusing his wife, including while she was pregnant. He said the allegations came as a shock to both of them and did not reflect what was happening in their home.
“I woke up, went downstairs, and my wife was there watching a movie. She was pregnant and laughing,” he recalled, explaining that he only realised something was wrong when his phone began receiving an unusual number of notifications.

According to him, the situation became clearer as he read comments online and saw the narrative gaining traction. He said Bambam was confused and upset by the claims, asking who could have started such a story.
Teddy A said he contacted his manager at the time and was advised not to respond publicly, in the hope that the story would fade. However, he now believes that remaining silent had unintended consequences.
“At the time, I didn’t understand the damage staying silent would do. Even now, when my wife and I post photos or videos, people still comment and ask if I beat her,” he said.
He described the episode as painful and said it altered how some members of the public perceived him, highlighting the enduring effect that unverified online allegations can have on personal reputation and family life.
