The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested one suspect in connection with an inhuman act captured in a viral video currently circulating on social media.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Abubakar, said the attention of the police was drawn to the disturbing video, which showed the confinement and inhuman violation of an adult female by unidentified individuals within Bauchi state.
According to the statement, the arrested individual is believed to be the host suspect, while investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the principal perpetrators.
“The Command is working diligently to ensure that all those connected to this criminal act are brought to justice,” the spokesperson said, adding that further updates would be communicated to the public as investigations progress.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, strongly condemned the barbaric act and warned the fleeing suspects to surrender themselves immediately.
He assured the public that the Nigeria Police Force would not relent in its efforts and would ensure that all those responsible are arrested and prosecuted accordingly.
LEADERSHIP Weekend reports that in a viral video, a young man was seen administering 50 lashes to a woman alleged to be his girlfriend. However, the offence for which she was punished has not yet been disclosed.
