The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old man, identified as Baffa’ji Abba, for allegedly abusing his 8-year-old biological daughter.
The incident was reported on December 31, 2025, at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Alkaleri local government area of the State by a family member, following an alleged sexual assault that occurred on December 30, 2025.
Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Nafiu Habib, said in a statement on Thursday that, “On 31/12/2025 at about 1042hrs, one Baffa’ji Muhammed ‘m’ reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Alkaleri, that on 30/12/2025 at about 1830hrs, one Baffa’ji Abba ‘m’ aged 28yrs (same address with the complainant), lured his biological daughter (name withheld) aged 8yrs into a bathroom and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her through both her vagina and anus for about five times in a single day against her will.”
SP Habib added that upon receiving the report, detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Kadiri Danjuma, immediately visited the scene.
According to the statement, the victim was promptly taken to the General Hospital in Alkaleri for medical examination and treatment, while the suspect was arrested.
The Police spokesman disclosed that during interrogation, the suspect allegedly confessed to the offence.
The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to carry out a thorough and discreet investigation to ensure diligent evidence gathering.
The Police assured that the suspect would be properly profiled and charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations, as the Command reiterated its commitment to protecting children and ensuring justice for victims of abuse.
