Bandits opened fire at a commercial vehicle at the Sabon-Kuruti junction in Kachia local government area of Kaduna state and shot the driver of the vehicle, Joshua Atara to death and abducted eight passengers.
A source told DAILY POST that the incident took place on Saturday evening around 4:12pm, saying the commercial vehicle was going to Katari from Hayin-Dam when it was attacked by the bandits.
According to the source, “The driver of the commercial vehicle was instantly killed and about eight passengers were forced into the bush by their abductors.”
A community leader from the area that sought for anonymity, also confirmed the killing of the driver and the abduction of the passengers.
The Kaduna state Police spokesman, Mansir Hassan could not be reached to comment on the incident.
