At least five people were killed, and several others are missing after armed bandits ambushed residents of Kyaram while they were returning from Maga Market in Bukkuyyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The attack which occurred on Wednesday evening, caused fear among residents of nearby rural communities.
Security analyst, Bakatsine shared details of the incident on X on Thursday, confirming the fatalities and warning about the growing threat of repeated attacks in rural areas.
“Armed bandits ambushed residents of Kyaram yesterday evening as they returned from Maga Market in Bukkuyyum LGA, Zamfara State.
“At least 5 people have been confirmed dead, while several others are still missing. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing, but fear is spreading fast across nearby rural communities.
“Residents are asking the big question: What immediate steps are authorities taking to find the missing and stop these repeated attacks on rural areas?,” Bakatsine wrote.
