Global industrial software firm, AVEVA, has appointed Khaled Salah as its new Vice President for Africa, in a move aimed at accelerating the company’s growth, digital transformation, and sustainability agenda across the continent’s key industrial markets.
The firm, which provides industrial intelligence and software solutions for sectors including energy, mining, chemicals, and water, said Salah will oversee its Africa operations and support engagement with major industry leaders across the region.
The 37-year-old Salah in his new role will lead a team of about 30 employees and drive the execution of AVEVA’s growth strategy across Africa. While reporting directly to the Senior Vice President for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Jesus Hernandez.
The new VP for Africa brings over 15 years of experience spanning engineering, supply chain management, procurement, and commercial strategy across multiple industrial domains. He holds a Master’s of Business Administration from Warwick Business School in the United Kingdom and a master’s degree in engineering from Ain Shams University in Egypt.
Meanwhile, AVEVA described Salah as a strong advocate for sustainable industrial progress, noting that his leadership approach combines business growth with long-term value for people and the environment.
He began his professional career at Schneider Electric in 2013, where he worked across the global supply chain before moving into senior roles including Europe procurement and supply chain strategy manager, and later, global commercial strategy director for the industrial automation business.
After more than 12 years at Schneider Electric, Salah joined AVEVA in 2022 to lead the global strategic partnership between AVEVA and Schneider Electric. In that capacity, he managed a 30-member team and played a key role in deploying new AVEVA software solutions to unlock growth opportunities across Schneider Electric’s industrial verticals.
Alongside his partnership responsibilities, Salah will now take full operational leadership of AVEVA’s activities in Africa, a region the company considers critical to its long-term global strategy.
Commenting on the appointment, Hernandez said Africa remains a priority market for AVEVA as industries increasingly seek digital tools to improve efficiency and meet sustainability targets.
“Africa is a strategic region for AVEVA. In this major industrial market, customers—world leaders in the fields of energy, metals and mining, chemicals, and water, we are looking for AVEVA’s expertise to accelerate their digital transformation and sustainability strategies, as well as their energy transition projects,” Hernandez said.
He added that Salah’s experience in managing diverse, multinational teams would strengthen AVEVA’s footprint across the continent. “Khaled Salah’s qualities of leadership in a global environment will benefit his team spread across 12 countries, including Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa,” Hernandez noted.
While speaking on his new role, Salah said his focus would be on empowering his team while supporting Africa’s industrial digitalisation journey.
“Helping my team realise their professional potential is close to my heart. We will work together to support and accelerate the digital transformation of industries in Africa, in particular through CONNECT, our industrial intelligence platform, with the support of our ecosystem of partners,” he added.
