Akwa United’s Offor Makes NNL History With 3 Straight Coach Of The Month Awards

Head coach Paul Offor has etched his name into the record books after winning the Nigeria National League’s Best Coach award for three consecutive months.

The Nigeria National League (NNL) confirmed that the Akwa United manager clinched the honour for December 2025, January 2026 and February 2026, underlining his impressive influence on the team’s performances this season.

Offor’s historic sweep headlined the league’s announcement of outstanding performers across the three months.

For December, Ajibola Joel of Stormers SC claimed the Golden Boot award, while Emmanuel S. Daniel of Ranchers Bees FC was named Best Goalkeeper. Yaro Zakari of Yobe Desert Stars FC secured the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, while Daniel Gothom of Akwa United won Goal of the Month.

Kada Warriors FC were recognised as the Best Behaved Team for the month, while Akporogene Ajigeye was named Best Referee.

In January, Tony Ayang of Rovers FC emerged as the highest goalscorer, while his club also picked up the Best Behaved Team award.

Aloysius Thankgod of Akwa United was named Best Goalkeeper, while Victor Samuel of Sporting Lagos FC clinched the MVP honour. Babarinde Taofeek of Gateway FC won the Goal of the Month award, with Eke Henry named Best Referee.

The February awards saw Innocent Idi of City FC finish as the top scorer. Alo Chukwu Pascal of Abakaliki FC was voted Best Goalkeeper, while Lobi Stars were named the Best Behaved Team.

Obisesan Sodiq of Osun United FC claimed the MVP award, while Jaffar Ojo of Smart City FC produced the Goal of the Month. Mudashir Shehu completed the list as the Best Referee.

According to the league organisers, the awards ceremony to honour the winners is scheduled for 30 March 2026.
