The Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, on Wednesday, felicitated with Muslims in Kebbi State and across Nigeria as they began observing the holy month of Ramadan, urging them to use the period to pray for peace, unity, and national development.
In a statement issued to mark the beginning of the fasting season, the governor urged the Muslim Ummah to reflect on the values of sacrifice, compassion, patience and unity which Ramadan embodies.
He encouraged citizens to extend acts of charity and kindness to the less privileged, noting that the sacred month offers an opportunity for spiritual renewal and stronger communal bonds.
Idris also appealed to residents to pray for lasting peace, stability and continued progress in Kebbi State and the country at large.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to governance, the governor said his government would continue to implement policies and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of the people and promoting inclusive development.
He further prayed that Almighty Allah would accept the fasts, prayers and acts of worship of the faithful and grant them abundant mercy and blessings throughout the holy month.
