The Naira has appreciated to nearly two years’ highest against the United States Dollar at both the official and parallel foreign exchange markets on Tuesday.
The Central Bank of Nigeria’s data showed that the Naira further strengthened on Tuesday to N1,335.96 per dollar, up from N1,347.78 on Monday, the highest rate since October 2024.
This means that the Naira gained N11.82 per dollar on a day-to-day basis at official foreign exchange market.
Similarly, the Naira surged significantly by N10 at the black market to close at N1,490 on Tuesday, up from N1,400 on Monday.
The development comes as the country’s foreign recorded sustained rise to $48.37 billion as of February 16, 2026, according to the apex bank data.
