Five members of the national assembly elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have officially joined the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State.
The lawmakers were received on Saturday by APC leaders, party members and supporters in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
They included two senate members, Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East and Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi, representing Osun Central, alongside three members of the House of Representatives, Omirin Olusanya of Ijesa South, Wole Oke of Ijesa North, and Taofeek Ajilesoro of Ife Central.
Speaking at the reception, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, welcomed the new members, describing them as important additions to the party’s family.
“In the APC, there are no strangers. We are one united family. Your arrival strengthens our resolve to reclaim Osun and restore dignity to governance,” he said.
He also urged party members to intensify their campaign efforts ahead of the August 8, 2026 governorship election, stressing the need for unity and strong grassroots mobilization.
“Together, we will reclaim Osun on August 8. Together, we will re-elect President Tinubu in 2027. Together, we will secure a brighter future for our children,” Oyetola added.
