The Department of State Services (DSS) on Tuesday issued a stern warning against individuals and groups attempting to exploit Nigeria’s political climate for destabilisation.
In a statement signed by DSS spokesman Dr. Peter Afunanya, the agency cautioned that intelligence reports revealed plans by certain actors to incite unrest and undermine national peace.
“We have credible intelligence that some elements are plotting to take advantage of the current political atmosphere to cause disorder. The DSS will not hesitate to act decisively against anyone found instigating violence or threatening public safety,” Afunanya said.
He urged citizens to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies, and avoid being used as tools for disruption.
