Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has confirmed he is willing to join any club after parting ways with South African side Chippa United, making him one of the most high-profile free agents on the African market.
The 29-year-old recently terminated his contract with Chippa by mutual consent, bringing an end to a four-year stint that significantly boosted his career.
His reputation soared after standout performances at AFCON 2023 and the 2025 tournament, where his penalty-saving exploits helped establish him among Nigeria’s top goalkeepers.
Despite his growing stature, Nwabali disclosed that he is still waiting for a firm offer following his unexpected departure.
Speaking on Sports Nights Amplified with Andile Ncube, the goalkeeper stressed that he is focused on finding the right sporting project rather than rushing into a move.
“I can play anywhere I want to play; there is no restriction,” Nwabali said.
“I am open to any club, local or international. Football deals with happiness, and my happiness comes first.”
Nwabali has been linked with several clubs, including South African giants Kaizer Chiefs, Moroccan outfit Raja Club Athletic, Saudi side Al-Ettifaq, a potential switch to the Rwandan league, and English Championship club Queens Park Rangers. A move to QPR would mark his first step into European football.
However, the goalkeeper clarified that none of the reported links have progressed into formal talks.
“There are no calls yet. The only calls are from my family and friends and people who are shocked at the news,” he revealed.
