The Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), Oyo State Chapter, have begun early mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, inaugurating Local Government Area (LGA) Coordinators across the state with a goal of achieving at least a 35 per cent improvement over the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s 2023 presidential election results.
The inauguration, held on Monday at the APC State Secretariat, Oke-Ado, Ibadan, is aimed at strengthening grassroots structures and consolidating support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and the party’s electoral prospects in Oyo State.
Speaking at the event, Oyo State Ambassador of the Renewed Hope Agenda, Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, urged the Coordinators to intensify mobilisation at the ward and polling-unit levels, describing grassroots engagement as critical to securing victory in 2027.
Folarin emphasised that the 35 per cent target was measurable and would require disciplined, data-driven organisation and sustained interaction with voters. He said the Coordinators were expected to work closely with existing APC structures, respect party hierarchy, and strengthen internal cohesion.
“You are now the frontline custodians of the Renewed Hope Agenda at the grassroots, where confidence is earned and victories are delivered,” Folarin said, urging Coordinators to communicate government policies and achievements in a clear and relatable manner. He added that the Coordinators would serve as a bridge between the leadership and the grassroots, providing local intelligence, identifying community challenges, and maintaining public confidence in the party and the Tinubu administration.
Senator Dayo Adeyeye, South-West Zonal Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, expressed confidence that President Tinubu would secure a landslide victory in 2027, calling on Coordinators to take ownership of the campaign in their local governments.
“You are representing the President in your local governments. Represent him well and canvass votes for him,” Adeyeye said.
Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, clarified that the Coordinators’ role was to complement—not compete with—existing local party executives. He said their key responsibility is to project the achievements of the Tinubu administration and secure massive votes for the President and other APC candidates in the state, urging them to “weaponise themselves with facts and performance records.”
Other APC leaders, including Senators Abdulfatai Buhari, Sharafadeen Alli and Ayo Adeseun, former Oyo APC Chairman Chief Akin Oke, and the party’s current State Chairman Pharm. Olayide Abass, advised Coordinators to abide by party rules and project a positive image of both the President and the party.
Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, in a welcome address, congratulated the Coordinators on their appointments, describing their task as a significant responsibility that demands commitment and a strong sense of duty.
The event was attended by APC executives, party leaders, stakeholders, and members from across Oyo State.
