Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has been endorsed for re-election by Ilesa community leaders, citing his administration’s infrastructure-driven agenda, which has led to the completion of the N16.5 billion dual carriageway and 10 township roads in the community.
The endorsement came during an on-the-spot assessment of the roads by government leaders from various groups, including the Ilesa West Council chairman, Ilesa Princes, NURTW, ACOMORAN, Motorcycle and Tricycle Operators Association of Nigeria (MOTOAN), Motorcycle Transport Union of Nigeria (MTUN), and Igbo leaders.
Speaking, Prince Adeyemi Adeyemo, Nze Akudina Obi, Temitope Matthew, among others, lauded the road infrastructure executed by Governor Ademola Adeleke, saying, “the dual carriageway and other road projects have changed the face of the town.
Earlier, Osun State Government, through the Director of Highways, Engr Moruf Ojebode, said the administration of Governor Adeleke constructed the 6.2-kilometre dual carriageway alongside 10 other township roads in Ilesa to stimulate industrial growth, expand business hubs and support emerging enterprises in the ancient town.
He noted that the road projects are part of Adeleke’s infrastructure-driven agenda to reposition Ilesa as a major commercial and economic corridor in the state.
Ojebode added that the improved road network, which totalled 20 kilometres, has eased movement, enhanced access to markets and industrial clusters, and created a more enabling environment for investors and small-scale businesses.
“That dual carriageway has put Ilesa in the limelight; it has developed the town more by bringing out the majestic upliftment of the ancient town. We have completed other roads in the town, numbering about 10, namely: Ademoroti, Ogbon Titun, Bonke, Ita Ofa, Atakunmosa market, Imose, Adeti, Oke Ese, Ajimoko and INEC roads.” Ojebode stated.Â
