Minister of Regional Development, Uba Maigari Ahmadu, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to regional development, following the commissioning of several projects executed by the NorthEast Development Commission (NEDC).
Speaking during the ongoing projects handover and inspection, the Ministry assured residents that the central government would continue to initiate more projects tailored to the regional development of the Northeast.
While inspecting ongoing development projects across the state, he was surprised to learn that the North East Development Commission (NEDC) has constructed multi-billion-naira projects across the State.
The NEDC, during its three-day visit, handed over a fire station and a truck to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), three mega schools across the three senatorial districts of the state, renovated the Tomb of the late Prime Minister, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, and built a Medical Emergency and Ophthalmology Centre at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH).
The Commission also inspected the ongoing construction of the Government Secondary School along Airport Road.
Reacting to the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, who commissioned the State office of the Commission, commended NEDC for its vision and contributions to the development of the region.
The governor reaffirmed the State’s commitment to continued collaboration with the Federal Government and its agencies to accelerate development and improve citizens’ welfare.
He assured the delegation of the state government’s continued support for NEDC projects, pledging to create an enabling environment to ensure effective implementation, accountability, and maximum benefits for communities across Bauchi State.
