Kano Government House prepares for Governor Yusuf’s formal defection to APC

Published:

The Kano Government House has begun early preparations to receive its occupant, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, into the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), with party flags and colours prominently displayed across the premises.

Areas previously adorned with the flags of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) have since been replaced with APC insignia, signalling the governor’s formal defection to the ruling party.

Although there was no significant crowd presence around the Government House at the time of observation, the city is already bracing for what is being described as the final stage of the defection episode.

The former Governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, is already in the state to witness what aides describe as the formal defection rituals of the Kano State governor into the APC.

Ganduje, who recently returned from London via Abuja, arrived in Kano late on Monday evening to take part in what supporters have characterised as a historic political moment.
